Department of Liver and Pancreas Diseases

Науковий відділ захворювань печінки та підшлункової залози був заснований у 1965 р.

З моменту організації та до 1987 р. відділом керував доктор медичних наук, професор Юльян Ісаакович Рафес.

З 1987 по 2011 р. відділом керував член-кореспондент АМН України, доктор медичних наук, професор Юрій Олександрович Філіппов.

З 2011 р. та по теперішній час науковим керівником відділу є головний гастроентеролог та дієтолог НАМН України, заслужений лікар України,  голова асоціації по вивченню та лікуванню хвороб органів травлення в Україні, доктор медичних наук, професор Юрій Миронович Степанов.

The main directions of scientific and clinical activities of the department.

Study of the features of the clinical course, development and improvement of methods for diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, including postcholecystectomy syndrome, postgastroresection and postvagotomy dumping syndrome.

Professor Rafes Yu.I. created a new scientific direction – endocrine gastroenterology. The diagnostic role of gastrin, secretin and cholecystokinin-pancreozymin hormones in the diagnosis of gastric diseases, including postgastroresection disorders of the gallbladder and pancreas, is shown. Syndromes associated with hormonal dysfunction of the pancreatobiliary system and stomach are described: secretin insufficiency, cholecystokinin-pancreozymin deficiency, dyshormonal digestive asthenia. High therapeutic efficacy of gastrointestinal hormones in this pathology has been shown.

Professor Filippov Yu.O. developed a highly informative method for remote diagnosis of human diseases, confirmed by the European patent for invention: “International patent WO 2004/093992 A1, A61 N2 / 12. Detection and influencing of physiological and / or pathological states. Korpan Nikolai (AT), Filippov Yuri (UA). PCT / AT2004 / 000134 application. Application 24.04.2003 Publ. 04.11.2004 ».

The department conducted research and substantiated the diagnostic and therapeutic use of polyhydric alcohols (sorbitol, xylitol) in gastroenterology. Together with the laboratory of biochemistry developed drugs “Liobil” and “Taurohol”, hormonal secretin-like drug “Suikrepan”. The department has developed an original method of intraduodenal infusion drip therapy using various drugs, including hormone stimulants, organ drugs, biological products.

Currently, the department deals with the problems of diffuse liver disease. Approaches are being developed for the diagnosis of early stages of fibrosis in order to prevent it and justify its possible reversal.

Since 1970 1 doctoral and 12 candidate dissertations were defended in the department, 6 author’s certificates and 8 declarative patents of Ukraine were received, 4 monographs, 4 methodical recommendations, 2 departmental instructions were published.

Тема науково-дослідної роботи відділу на 2019-2021 рр. “To study the clinical, biochemical and structural features of the formation of steatosis and fibrosis in patients with chronic diffuse liver disease.” The study of macrostructural and microstructural changes of the liver in its pathology of various origins. Non-invasive assessment of fibrosis is performed by an extra-class FibroScan device. In order to develop therapeutic measures, the relationship between functional, structural changes, the state of the immunocytokine link and the intestinal microbiocenosis is assessed.
