The research topic of the department for 2014-2016 “To study the nutritional status of patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease and to develop methods for correcting the identified disorders.” The role of the inflammatory response in the development of metabolic disorders in patients with COPD has been proven. The peculiarities of protein and lipid metabolism, the state of vascular endothelium, the content of adipokin-leptin in the serum of patients, the structural state of the liver and the absorption function of the intestine depending on the nutritional status of patients were studied. It is established that the imbalance in the intestinal microflora of the small and large intestine contributes to the development of metabolic disorders in COPD. On the basis of the received data methods of correction of the revealed disturbances at patients with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases with nutritional insufficiency are offered.
from 2017 to 2019, the department conducted research “Investigate the age and gender characteristics of chronic inflammatory bowel disease and develop differentiated treatment regimens.”
It is established that for patients with COPD in the middle-aged group is characterized by a more severe course of the disease on the background of more frequent comorbidities. Men with Crohn’s disease have a significantly higher incidence of severe disease than women. At NVK women are more prone to anemia than men.
Endoscopic examination of the colon in patients with COPD revealed that women are more characterized by severe activity of NSC, while men are more characterized by a moderate degree of endoscopic activity of ulcerative colitis. In patients with male Crohn’s disease there is a significant increase in the frequency of pseudopolyps and purulent plaque. The peculiarities of lipid metabolism, the state of vascular endothelium, the content of circulating immune complexes in the serum of patients, the structural state of the liver and the local stiffness of the arterial wall of the carotid arteries depending on the age and sex of patients.
It was found that in middle-aged and elderly patients the stiffness of the liver parenchyma was significantly higher compared with the young group. A significant increase in the indices of arterial wall stiffness in patients with CKD depending on age was found. It is established that the imbalance in the composition of the intestinal microflora of the small and large intestine have gender and age differences.
From 2020 to the present R&D “Study the importance of humoral immune factors and develop a set of criteria for predicting the course of chronic inflammatory bowel disease”
As a result of 1 year of research, it was found that patients with severe COPD are characterized by anemic syndrome. The peculiarities of the endoscopic picture of COPD depending on the severity are determined. The peculiarities of humoral immunity in patients who depended on the activity of the disease were studied. Unidirectional changes in the content of QLC in the coprofiltrate were determined, a significant decrease in butyric acid was found in the group of severe NSC. There was a significant increase in serum IgG4 in patients with NSC compared with HC. An imbalance in the composition of the intestinal microflora in 100% of patients, which has differences in severity. A study of IgG4-positive cells of the colonic mucosa showed that the presence of positive cases was 4.4 times more common in NSC than in HC, and was more common in patients with moderate disease.
